Hamelin
The legendary Pied Piper city of Hamelin invites you to a walk along historical buildings of the Weserrenaissance or to a shopping stroll.
The Hochzeitshaus with its carillon, the Rattenfaengerhaus and the visit of the Hamelin Glassworks are recommendable. The christmas market attracts numerous visitors in december.
The theatre of Hamelin offers an extensive program with numerous concerts, musicals, operas or farces. Open air concerts are offered during the summer in the Buergergarten - a beautiful, centrally situated park. The cinema at the new restored train station, the discos in Hamelin (e.g. the Retro discotheque & lounge in the Kaisersaal) and bars are also worth a visit as well as the open air and indoor swimming pools.
Surroundings
The Apartment-Hotel-Hameln is situated along the interstate road B1 and therefore an optimal starting point to discover the lovely Weserbergland. Many sights in the nearest surroundings like the castle Haemelschenburg, the cities Bad Pyrmont or Bodenwerder - the hometown of Baron of Muenchhausen - can be reached excellently.
On a steamer excursion on the Weser, you can get an idea of the charming surroundings of the Weserbergland. Or you can go on covered wagon journeys or raft journeys. Another popular leisure possibility is to ride a bike on the Weserradweg.
The summer-toboggan-run near Bodenwerder (23 km from Hamelin) or the amusement park for kids, called Rasti Land, (25 km from Hamelin) also promises a lot of fun.
